CONVERSION project, Picasso
2017
Artists often study the works of other artists, to learn new techniques, explore unfamiliar materials, or experience another artist's way of seeing. In this process, something new can emerge: artworks that carry subtle traces of the artist being studied, yet speak in a new voice of their own. I call these creations conversions.
Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and visionary who became one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. A co-founder of Cubism, he revolutionized modern art through constant experimentation across painting, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking. Picasso's work captured both beauty and the chaos of human experience, leaving an enduring mark on global art.
What fascinates me about Picasso's art is the way he merges multiple perspectives, both mental and physical, into one harmonious whole.
